Mixed-Aged Classes - MT
Rhythm Kids classes are designed to help children develop their rhythm skills and gain a deeper level of musical understanding, preparing them for formal music instruction. The program includes:
Learning drumming patterns through playful animal-themed rhythmic chants
Experiencing and improvising with new repertoire using a range of percussion instruments
Ensemble and solo singing and drumming
Playing dynamic group and partner music and drumming games
Engaging in group movement activities and folk dances
Creating imaginative movements, improvising patterns, and sharing ideas
with the group
Learning to take charge and lead others (like a conductor) as well as listen
respectfully and follow peers/teacher when it is their turn to lead.
Children 0-5 years old attend class together, and older children become leaders while younger children learn from the older children and all the adults in the room. Parent participation is very important as you are the most important music maker in your child's life. Go to the program link above on this page for more detailed information on our Curriculum.
Free Demonstration Music Class
Class for Parents interested in experiencing what Music Together® is all about with their child/ren.
Sing For Supper15
In the spirit of giving, this event is a Fundraising event that will take canned food donations in lieu of payment. We will then deliver them to a local foodbank on behalf of the families and Jammin Baby, LLC. We will sing holiday songs during this class and dance and play instruments to music from all around the world. We sing for their supper on this day... Stop Hunger.
Intro to Music Babies Class
Infants range from only a few weeks old to several months in this program! Babies will range anywhere from birth-7 months at the start of the semester. We recommend infants older than seven months register for mixed-age classes. The babies are non-mobile for the majority of the semester. If your baby is crawling before the start of the semester you may also want to consider a mixed-age class. Feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss.
Rhythm Kids Level 1 (4/5 with Adult)
Community Sing - K-4th Grade (Suggested)
Rhythm Kids 1 is the next musical step for your child (ages 4–6)- parents welcome. Each week we drum, sing, dance, play rhythm instruments, and begin to play music-based games. Rhythm Kids Level 1 guides children toward developmentally appropriate music and movement activities, where they can begin to take charge, lead others, and be musically creative. Rhythm Kids Level 1 follows through on the Music Together® vision to help children complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age eight.
Drums will be provided for the class each week, but if you’d like your child to have a drum to play with at home (and then continue to use in Level 2 classes), please ask your teacher about the special discounts on djembe drums that are available to Music Together families.
Learn the basics of singing: breathing, pitch, posture and presentation. In each class students will learn how to warm up their voices, sing as a group and individually, and how to move and sing at the same time. We will pick 2 acappella song projects and perform when ready - and if a student wishes they may do a solo. Parents are invited to sing with us too if they like and learn as well. This is a no pressure, no commitment class - just spreading the joy of singing to the community and to kids.
Holiday Sing for you Supper
We will have Singing, Dancing and drumming along with some special guests from Renner Dance. It will be a holiday celebration for all.
Please bring canned goods for those in need - we will donate to the Food Pantry in Chatham County.
